Prof. Dr. Pamela Rogerson-Revell

Dr. Pamela Rogerson-Revell is an applied linguist with particular research and teaching interests in the areas of phonology and pronunciation teaching; English as an international language (EIL) and Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL). She has recently finished co-authoring a book ‘Teaching and Researching Pronunciation: Contemporary Perspectives’ (Pennington and Rogerson- Revell, 2019, Palgrave Macmillan). She is also involved in a two-year funded research project investigating pronunciation teachers’ cognition and practice, with co-investigator Dr Wafa Zoghbor at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates.


She is also active in developing and researching online and distance learning pedagogies and has been involved in many funded projects in this area. She is currently leading the development of a MOOC, ‘An introduction to Applied Linguistics and TESOL’ which is a joint collaboration between the University of Leicester and Futurelearn.

She gives regular talks at national and international conferences and have given keynotes in each of these areas. She also does consultancy work, for instance, as an expert evaluator for the EU Research Executive Agency, evaluating Marie Curie Research Fellowship and is a member of the Editorial Board of English Today.


Dr. Pamela is familiar with Asian culture, she worked four years in Hong Kong University and had a joint project with academics in Antalya/Turkey.
