Dr. Jan MacLean is a Senior Lecturer in the fields of Art Education and Literacy with the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University in B.C. Canada. She has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and book chapters on the topics of “Inclusion through the Arts”. Dr. MacLean has presented her research on “educating through the arts” internationally throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Recently, she was invited to give a series of lectures on “Creative approaches to Learning” and was awarded “International Scholar of the Year” at Shanghai Normal University in China. Her current research investigates ways that art, poetry and reflective writing can be utilized to create meaningful inter-cultural dialogue and relationships.
