Professor Bonnie L. Gasior, Ph.D., is a Professor of Spanish at California State University, Long Beach and a recipient of the 2018 (CSULB) President’s Award for Outstanding Faculty Achievement. She has co-edited two volumes, Crosscurrents: Transatlantic Perspectives on Early Modern Hispanic Drama (Bucknell, 2006) and Making Sense of the Senses: Current Approaches in Spanish Comedia Criticism (Juan de la Cuesta, 2017). She has also co-authored a third-year introduction to Hispanic literature textbook, Redes literarias: Antologίa del texto hispânico en su contexto historico-cultural (McFarland, 2018).

Her articles appear in journals such as Bulletin of the Comediantes, Hispania, Chasqui, Calíope: Journal of the Society for Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry, and Comedia Performance. Dr. Gasior is also a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor. Her talk will touch on the details of this groundbreaking, educational program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to individuals showing signs of a mental illness or substance use disorder.
