Associate Professor Dr Jehangir Bharucha is an academician of international acclaim and is currently the Director of Postgraduate Studies and an Associate Professor at Mumbai’s premier college for business and commerce education, H R College of Commerce and Economics.
A holder of two PhD degrees, he has been invited several times by leading universities in the United States and United Kingdom to teach courses related to the Indian economy. He is perhaps best known for his Masterclass courses on Doing Business in India at Kennesaw State University, City University of New York and other institutions worldwide.
With over 25 years in teaching and administration, his scholarly inputs have made an extraordinary and significant impact on Economics. He has won numerous teaching awards including the Pride of the Nation (India), Faculty Recognition award (by the Sheriff of Mumbai) as well as cited in the book Best Citizens of India. Dr Bharucha is also to be felicitated by the Higher Education Forum of India on Teachers Day for his two and a half decades of contribution to teaching and research in economics.
He has 80 publications in leading economics and education journals with some of his seminal studies focusing on employment and financial literacy of the youth. Dr Bharucha has always been interested in tackling issues that have real-life applications for teaching practice and his work has challenged generations of young economists to look beyond traditional assumptions.
