ABSTRACT

STEM education suggested students to learn science with integration between Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. To help students make sense of relationship all 4 disciplines. This research aimed to developing STS approach Nuclear energy unit for providing students’ perception of the relationship between science technology engineering and mathematics. The STS Nuclear Energy unit was developed based on Yuenyong (2006)’s STS approach. His approach consists of five stages including (1) identification of social issues, (2) identification of potential solutions, (3) need for knowledge, (4) decision-making, and (5) socialization stage. The paper will explain how the unit was developed and clarify how the unit provided activities for some aspects of the relationship between science technology engineering and mathematics. The paper may have implications for developing science teaching with STEM education.
