ABSTRACT
Learning style is the consistent way of student’s response towards stimuli and use it in the context of learning. Effective learning styles among the students especially gifted and talented students affect the learning objectives of the student and somehow influence the examination results of student. Thus, this study aims to examine the learning styles of gifted and talented students and to investigate type of learning styles that influence the results of their exams. This study was participated by 100 gifted and talented students from Pusat GENIUS@pintar Negara, UKM (Female=50, Male=50) which age ranged from 15 till 17 years old (15 years old=30, 16 years old=30, 17 years old=40). This study found that gifted and talented students are more likely to use visual/non-verbal learning styles followed by kinesthetic learning styles. Besides, this study also found that there is a significant relationship between types of student’s learning styles towards the exam results. Gifted and talented students enjoyed and are more interested when the teaching and learning environment involving their visual sensory which allows them to see and remember better. Ultimately, the researchers suggest teachers to use visual teaching methods and movement learning environment in many shapes and figures which are well organized in the classroom.
